BLOWING LEAVES

Padma’s stomach flipped as she ran to answer the front door. Through the glazed window panes, she could see a dark silhouette with a peaked cap. The police emblem slightly brighter than the surrounding material.

She took a deep breath and opened the door. Pasting on a smile.

“Is your husband here,” the officer asked.

Short Story: Tubsy and the Trauma of Oz

Zoe sat on her coiled rag carpet holding Tubsy in her arms. Gently feeding Tubsy her bottle of water. Tubsy’s eyes were almost completely closed against her flushed pink cheeks. A bottle always made her sleepy.

50 Word Story: Tinnitus Cure Study 421-Rotary

Could I write a story in 50 words? It was Halloween 2016, and I wanted to write a quick flash fiction story. Inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s famous heart wrenching 6 word story: “For sale, baby shoes, never worn.” The result is the Doctor Bell Tinnitus Cure Study 421: Rotary.
